Leather Care Guide
How to Care for Your Leather Goods
Leather is a natural material, and regular care can help preserve its appearance and feel. Care needs can vary by leather type and finish, so always consider the individual product before applying a cleaner or conditioner.
Keep Leather Dry
Avoid soaking leather or leaving it exposed to prolonged moisture. If an item becomes damp, gently blot excess moisture with a clean cloth and allow it to air-dry naturally away from direct heat.
Clean Gently
For routine dust or light surface marks, use a soft, dry or slightly damp cloth. Avoid harsh household cleaners, bleach, and abrasive scrubbing.
Condition When Appropriate
A leather conditioner can help some leather finishes remain supple. Test any care product on a small, inconspicuous area first and follow the care product's instructions. Suede-like, coated, specialty, or performance materials can require different treatment.
Store Carefully
Store leather goods in a cool, dry place away from prolonged direct sunlight. Avoid crushing wallets, gloves, belts, and accessories under heavy items for long periods.
Belts
When possible, hang belts or store them in a loose roll instead of folding them sharply. Rotate between belts if you wear them frequently to reduce repeated stress in the same areas.
Wallets and Keychains
Avoid overfilling wallets, which can stretch card slots and seams. Keep keychains away from sharp objects that may scratch the leather surface.
Fitness Gloves
After use, allow training gloves to air out fully before storing them. Avoid leaving damp gloves sealed inside a gym bag for extended periods.
